Passed VCP510…

Well I took the VCP-510 exam today and passed with a score of 456. Firstly, I would like to thank Adam at the Pitman Training Centre (York Place, Edinburgh) for his help and patience as I managed to turn up at the test centre with an invalid driving licence. This is why (and I usually do) you should have these items ready the day before, so not exactly greatĀ preparationĀ for the exam!

I used the following resources as well as spending plenty of lab time working with the new features such as Auto Deploy, Storage DRS,Ā ProfileĀ Driven Storage,Ā NetworkĀ I/O Control and Storage I/O Control.

I personally did notĀ findĀ the exam tooĀ difficult, especially when comparing this to my with my last exam outing with the 70-662 (Microsoft Exchange 2010). Ā The majority of my questions were what I would consider to be easy to medium level and those in which I was not 100% Ā sure of the answer, the process ofĀ eliminationĀ could be applied. The new features in vSphere 5 were not heavily tested and when they did not require great detail of understanding. The remaing questions are what you would see in the previous versions of the exams, description of functionality, configuration and resolving performance issues.
